Winter weddings are always an elegant, magical affair - and bride Kylie knew exactly what she wanted for the perfect day with fiancé Patrick.
"I wore the perfect, full-sleeve lace gown created by Sottero and Midgle -- the bridesmaids wore “Sammi” in the burgundy colour."
"We had worked with our celebrant to make the ceremony very personal and had answered “secret questions” about one another which were a surprise to hear on the day", she tells us. "Our florist (Wallflower Floral Design in Brighton, Brisbane) created stunning bouquets of pinks, reds, oranges, sea holly, peonies, spray roses, amaranth, with lots of green foliage and texture!"
The reception was the definition of true sublimity with "Gorgeous fairy lights lining the ceiling, even draped down behind the bridal table. There were garlands of flowers, scattered with candles, and Patrick made a wooden table number for each table."
Our hearts can take no more. We're already head over heels in love with Yandina Station, QLD. Do you know each guest received a piece of local, delicious white chocolate scattered with pistachios? Thanks to Chocolate Country!
"These were wrapped in clear cellophane and placed in the wine glasses on the tables. We made our own seating chart out of an old frosted window pane and created our own photo booth. Guests could dress up, snap a polaroid and stick them in!"
What about the dessert of the evening?
"Our wedding cake was a two-tiered naked cake drizzled with seasonal fruit from “Sweetness Contained” in Noosa."
There comes a time when a bride wants something a little different for her wedding. Why not add a sparkle here or there to make that day extraordinary! (and fun too)
"We had a ‘wine ceremony’ during our ceremony where we had a special bottle of wine that we put cards in to open and have on our first anniversary. We also wrote our own vows which was really special", Samantha tells us.
Hosted at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron in Kirribilli, couple Mitchell and Samantha couldn't have asked for better company. With a reception filled with hilarious speeches, live bands and dancing, what else could a pair of newlyweds need? And let us not forget the bride's breathtaking strapless gown flowing ever so elegantly to the floor.
"Our bouquets were round shaped with mine created by roses and peonies. The bridesmaids had the same with a little burgundy tones. In the reception space, we had flowers down the centre of the long tables and round flower bowls on the round tables", Samantha says.
With such a beautiful wedding reception, we couldn't help but notice the uniqueness of the cake!
"Our cake looked classic and formal at the front and as a surprise for my husband I had the back decorated with his favourite movie. The back looked like the cake was pealing open and on the two tiers were Star Wars decorations and characters! It was so fabulous and really really delicious!"
There comes a time when a little country is all we need - the same can be said for a special occasion. Peta and Hamish, who celebrated their wedding day in the heart of the Hunter Valley, added a little splash of navy, yellow and white to their chic, romantic vision. Did we mention a little help from friends could make a wedding even more magical? Allow us to give some of the credit to high school friend Brooke!
“Without Brooke, there’s no way we would have been able to pull together all the elements that made our day so memorable,” Peta said. “Don’t think twice about the cost of a planner or stylist. Find someone that shares your vision and who will make the entire process seamless.”
Not only was the bride absolutely breathtaking, but the bridesmaids gowns were purchased by your very own BridesmaidsOnly!
“It was the second dress I purchased. The original dress was more formal than I wanted and didn’t fit with the styling elements we’d decided on,” she explained. “I fell in love with my dress and was in and out the store within 20 minutes, with hardly any alterations required”.
From the outdoors to indoors, the reception was flicking with candles suspended in glass baubles from the ceiling. Could this wedding be anymore dreamier?Photography by SugarLove
